This trendy new milk is said to be an amazing cure-all. Turmeric, the latest spice to take over the health food scene, is found in countless food products ranging from bone broth to honey. But there’s no doubt that golden milk, the spice’s latest incarnation, is getting the most buzz. The trendy drink is made with a blend of turmeric and milk and typically includes other tasty spices like ginger and black pepper. Together, these powerful spices have some pretty amazing health benefits, such as lessening the effects of depression and improving digestion. In fact, the drink is such a superstar that it’s been enjoyed for ages by various cultures. And in case you were curious, it isn’t called golden milk because it’s such a gold medal-deserving drink; it gets its name from its golden hue. (Its main ingredient, turmeric, contains the compound curcumin, which is responsible for the spice’s bright yellow color.)

You can drink it during the entire day, but most people drink it in the morning, on an empty stomach, and before going to bed. This magical, creamy drink offers numerous benefits, and we will reveal the method of its preparation, and how to use it.

While an array of Golden Milk recipes exist, the key ingredient is always turmeric, often with ginger, both of which are potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds. In fact, thousands of research studies on just turmeric and its most active constituent, curcumin, show it may be beneficial in preventing and/or treating over six hundred health conditions. And turmeric, also known as ‘Indian Solid Gold’ has been found comparable to fourteen various drugs and medications —without adverse side effects, even at doses up to 8,000 mg per day (about one rounded teaspoon of dried turmeric).
