Toothache is a common reason for visiting the dentist. Pain from toothache can affect the teeth and jaws.Tooth decay is a common reason for toothache, which won’t usually get better on its own.

Toothache pain can be constantly throbbing, or may be set off by food or drink.

As well as tooth decay, toothache may be caused by:

  • Tooth fracture
  • A damaged filling
  • Repetitive movements, such as chewing gum or grinding teeth
  • Infected gums

Symptoms of toothache may include:

  • Tooth pain that may be sharp, throbbing, or constant. In some people, pain results only when pressure is applied to the tooth
  • Swelling around the tooth
  • Fever or headache
  • Foul-tasting drainage from the infected tooth

Here is a list of some natural remedies that can help you deal with your toothache:

Garlic

Garlic is an extremely effective toothache reliever! It has been known to completely cure a toothache. Some people even swear by chewing a garlic clove every morning for healthy, stronger teeth. But at the very least, you should give this a try whenever you need some relief from a toothache. Peel a clove of garlic. Press salt into the clove. Place the garlic clove and salt on the aching tooth.
Bite down to release a little “juice”.
Let the garlic piece stay by the toothache, biting down whenever you need relief.

Guava leaves

Guava leaves act as a powerful natural aid to relieve tooth pain caused due to poor oral hygiene and bacterial infection. These leaves are packed with flavonoids (that shoes anti-bacterial activity) and anti-inflammatory properties making them a perfect remedy to relieve a toothache.

Clove oil

Clove oil may sting at first but you can feel the relief afterwards. Cloves are a traditional medication for numbing nerves. Clove oil has powerful properties that can kill bacteria. It can also make the area of your tooth numb which is why many people are using clove oil as cure for toothache. It was found out that the extracts from clove buds contain eugenol which also performs as a local anesthetic. Pouring the oil on the infected area may worsen the pain if it gets into the sensitive tissue or on tongue.

Cinnamon and honey

A simple paste made with cinnamon and honey can help provide toothache relief. Mix one teaspoon of cinnamon powder with 5 teaspoons of honey, then apply a small amount of this paste directly onto the aching tooth. Store the remainder in a small container at room temperature.

Turmeric

Turmeric is a well known spice for its antiseptic, antibacterial and analgesic properties that can aid in eliminating pain. It is considered to be effective against tooth and gum infections as well as useful in excruciating abscesses.

Warm salt water

The detoxing properties of salt, when combined with warm water, provide a cleansing and soothing effect on the affected area. Often, swishing warm salt water in your mouth loosens debris caught in teeth and can provide temporary relief.

Cancer. It’s a word that reverberates deeply in the ears of anyone who hears it. No one wants to think that they might have it, especially when symptoms begin in the body.

The American Cancer Society says that cancer statistics are on the rise, and have been rising every since the 1970’s. Often cancer has only very mild symptoms, and patients usually get diagnosed while being tested for something completely different. The sooner a person gets diagnosed, the better their chances for fast and effective recovery.

Cancer begins on a cellular level, when abnormal cells grow out of control, eventually invading surrounding tissues. Most cancerous cells result from a change in or damage to genes, called a mutation. Cancer cells behave differently from normal cells. These malignant cells do not obey the instructions from the genes and die off, but form a mass of tissue called a tumor, or travel throughout the body through the blood and lymph systems. Not all tumors are cancerous. There is a list of natural remedies that can help you treat the symptoms of cancer:

Marijuana

A number of small studies of smoked marijuana found that it can be helpful in treating nausea and vomiting from cancer chemotherapy. A few studies have found that inhaled (smoked or vaporized) marijuana can be helpful treatment of neuropathic pain (pain caused by damaged nerves). Smoked marijuana has also helped improve food intake in HIV patients in studies. There are no studies in people of the effects of marijuana oil or hemp oil. More recently, scientists reported that THC and other cannabinoids such as CBD slow growth and/or cause death in certain types of cancer cells growing in lab dishes. Some animal studies also suggest certain cannabinoids may slow growth and reduce spread of some forms of cancer.

Korean Ginseng

The roots of this plant have been used for health and longevity for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Now scientists are saying that Korean Ginseng has a huge role to play in the prevention, and possibly treatment, of cancer. One study on Korean men showed that taking Korean Ginseng reduced the risk of multiple types of cancer by up to 40%. The most likely mode of action is that Korean Ginseng enhances the immune system. Laboratory studies have also confirmed that Korean Ginseng directly inhibits the growth of kidney tumors. Some of the chemicals in Ginseng may increase blood pressure, so be careful with this herb if you’re on medication.

Fish

The fish known as “oily fish” are undoubtedly the best source of omega 3 fatty acids that exists, and thus are very well-suited to support cardiac health.

They also help protect you from cancer thanks to their antiangiogenic agents. They cut off the blood supply to cancer cells, slowing their growth and making them die of hunger.

Baking Soda

Studies have shown evidence of baking soda being used effectively for the treatment of cancer. However, baking soda is typically used in combination with several other recommendations. There are also variations of recommendations on the use of baking soda for cancer, such as it being administered by mouth or intravenously. One recent study published in the Cancer Research journal, found that sodium bicarbonate increased pH in tumors and reduced cancer metastasis.

Commonly a huge rush is seen at parlors and beauty clinics for the removal of blackheads and whiteheads. They charge a lot for such things and uses artificial products for this.

Waxing, pulling out heads, scrubs etc are some of the procedure done for the removal of blackheads.

Whiteheads develop under the skin and look like white bumps–these bothersome pimple-like bumps are a combination of sebum (oil) and dead skin in our follicle.
Blackheads are open-hair follicles filled with lots of dead skin cells and sebum that have developed because of oxidation. Dead skin cells and oils collect in the opening to the skin follicle, producing a bump called a comedone. If the skin over the bump stays closed, the bump is called a whitehead. When the skin over the bump opens, exposure to the air causes it to look black and a blackhead forms.

An individual who suffers from acne would have the high risks of developing blackheads and whiteheads. Blackheads and whiteheads can take place all over the body, especially around oily areas of the body. But, still, their appearance is much likely on facial skin as compared to other body parts.

You don’t have to go through the hustle of covering them up, because here are some of the best remedies to get rid of blackheads and whiteheads naturally.

Sugar

This is the simplest scrub one can use for face, especially for blackhead removal. It works pretty well on whiteheads too. All that you need to do is to cleanse your face and then scrub it with sugar. You may also add a teaspoon of lemon juice to the scrub, it will clear all the excessive oils in your skin. While the sugar will protect your skin from drying up and clear the pores.

Baking soda and water

Mix baking soda with water and make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your face and let it sit until it dries. Wash off with warm water.

Egg and honey

Egg whites make the skin pores firm, and honey acts as a moisturizer. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of almond oil, 1 tablespoon of organic yogurt, egg whites from 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of warm honey. Mix all the ingredients well. Apply a thin layer on the face, let it dry. Use warm water to rinse it off.

Salt and lemon

First, cleanse your face with gentle cleanser and water. Pat with dry towel. Take the lemon slice a put the salt over it. Gently squeeze the juice, and using the lemon peel massage it all over the face in a circular motion. Leave it for 2 minutes. Now, get little hard and rub the peel on area with blackheads. You will notice that the blackheads are coming out in your peel. Leave it again for 2 minutes then wash off with lukewarm water.

Cucumber and carrot

Grate some carrot and cucumber, dilute the mixture with rose water and you will get an effective antimicrobial wash. It is ideal to remove dirt and bacteria from your skin. Keep in mind though that when using vegetables or fruits in home skincare recipes, the ones in their organic form are those you should seek for more. This is because they are free of harmful pesticides that can worsen a problematic skin condition.

Drinking lemon water in the morning helps your gut by stimulating the production of hydrochloric acid, a critical ingredient needed by our stomach to digest and expel waste because it is rich in vitamin C. A lot of experts that includes doctors and nutritionists encourage people to drink lemon juice or use it as a sweetener in their green juices because it is rich in vitamin C that is known to neutralize free-radicals in our body.

It has an alkalizing effect which helps greatly in balancing our body’s pH levels. Scientifically known as Citrus limon, lemon is an excellent source of various nutrients such as vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, calcium and pectin fiber, making it ideal for those who have heart problems. In fact, it has more potassium comparing to apples and grapes. It may not be a lot but this citrus fruit also has traces of vitamin A and iron. Overall, this little yellow fruit packs a lot of nutritional punch. It is rich in antioxidants that will neutralize free radicals from oxidizing cells and it stimulates our digestive system to flush out toxins from the body.

Lemon water benefits:

 Keeps your skin clean

The antioxidants in lemon juice help to not only decrease blemishes, but wrinkles too! It can also be applied to scars and age spots to reduce their appearance, and because it’s detoxifying your blood, it will maintain your skin’s radiance.

Alkalizes

It is SO important to try to get your body back to its ideal PH.  This should be a constant consideration as disease and inflammation only occurs when the human body is too acidic.  Fruits are alkalizing, but greens are even more powerful.

Digestion

Warm water with lemon helps digestion as lemon contains citric acid. It interacts with other enzymes and acids which easily stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and digestion.

Weight loss

Water with lemon helps with weight loss. Lemons contain pectin fiber, which helps suppress hunger cravings. Studies have proven people with a better alkaline diet have lost weight faster.

Boosts your immunity

There is a reason why oranges are favorites during flu season. Once again, you need enough vitamin C to boost your immune system and fight infections. The good news is lemon is also full of this vitamin too. Even better news is that you don’t have to pop so many pills anymore because lemon water can already supply much of the vitamin C your body needs to fight those dreaded colds. And yes, it keeps your immune system up and running too.

How to prepare it:

Take out a couple of fresh, preferably organic lemons. Slice them as thin or thick as you like. Squeeze some of the sliced lemons into the water but not all. Grate some of the zest of these squeezed slices into your drink. Place the remaining un-squeezed slices in your bottle. Fill to the brim with either boiling hot, or ice cold water.

Prepare this easy drink at home and enjoy all of the amazing benefits that it gives to your body.

Your nails speak of your style, they are like jewels which you can design with nail art and flaunt them off by wearing beautiful nail paints. Nails are made up of a protein called keratin.  You may have noticed that your toe nails grow faster than your hand nails. This happens due several factors like lack of nutrients in the body, hormonal changes, stress or due to use of certain medications.

Slow and poor nail growth can be accompanied by breakage, splitting, brittle nails and other nail problems. You can promote nail growth by maintaining a healthy diet and following a proper nail care to keep your nails strong.

There is nothing worse than breaking a nail. The only thing you can do is wait until it grows out again so that you can get the manicure re-done. Fortunately for you, you can quicken the growing process by using this nail soak.

For this DIY nail growth recipe you will need a few ingredients that you probably have at home. The items you will need include: an orange, olive oil, and a clove of garlic. You can also substitute the orange for orange juice, and the garlic clove for pre-minced garlic.

Garlic

Garlic is known for its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties and it thus protects nails from infections. Although garlic does not promote nail growth, it helps to maintain nails healthy and strong. Cut a garlic clove in two halves and rub the cloves all over your finger nails. Let the garlic juice get absorbed before washing hands. Alternatively make paste of garlic and apply the paste on the nails and leave it for 5 minutes. Follow this remedy once a week to get smooth nails.

Olive oil

Olive oil is an amazing moisturizer, able to penetrate deeply into skin. Because of this, it also helps to soften the cuticles and adds strength to the nail to prevent breakage.

How to prepare this DIY soak:

Combine the orange juice and garlic in a shallow container. Place fingertips in the mixture and soak them for 10 minutes. Rinse your hands and discard the garlic and orange juice solution. Fill the bowl with one quarter cup of olive oil. Soak nails in the oil for 5 minutes.

The nail soak can be done two or more times a week and will also benefit cuticles and skin. It’s one of the most basic things that you can do at home to both achieve and maintain stronger, healthier, beautiful looking hands and nails.

Lemon and sea salt soak

If you have discoloration on your nails from too many acrylics, or stains caused by dark nail polish, a combination of sea salt and lemon juice can help. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a bowl, and add about a teaspoon and a half of sea salt. Soak your nails for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse. Repeat three or four times a week until your nails look lighter – a couple weeks should do the trick.

Various parts of the body can be affected by the pain caused by arthritis. Joint pain can be mild or severe. Rest is the only way to reduce this unbearable pain.

Even the painkillers can be ineffective against this pain. Whenever you have pain in your joints it is really difficult to accomplish anything. There are some people who have joint pain after a long day at work. This type of joint pain may go away after a day of rest.

However, some people experience chronic joint pain or may even have arthritis. Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints. There are many different forms of arthritis and it may affect any area of the body from the neck down to your feet.

If you suffer from joint pain you may find that there is very little relief offered from conventional medicines. One of the best ways to relieve joint pain and the symptoms of arthritis is by making a few lifestyle changes including changing your dietary habits.

If you suffer from arthritis and joint pain and find that over the counter medications are not working for you or you simply want a more natural way to cure your aching joints, there is an answer. It comes in the form of apple cider vinegar.

Besides joint pain, apple cider vinegar will cleanse the body since it has powerful antioxidant characteristics. It is advised to use this ingredient as often as possible due to its numerous health benefits.

Here are some of ACVs properties:

  • It contains Malic acid which effectively dissolves the uric acid in the bloodstream.
  • It also contains potassium that plays a role in waste elimination from the human body.
  • The amino acids in ACV can help lower toxicity.
  • While apple cider vinegar itself is acid, once it gets into the body, it gets converted into an alkaline material.

Here are a few ideas on how to use ACV to get rid of your joint pain and arthritis:

  • Apple Cider Vinegar Bath- Run a hot bath and pour in 1-2 cups apple cider vinegar. Soak for 30-35 minutes, massaging the entire body. Start with the feet and work your way up each leg one at a time. Next, massage the torso, arms, and neck. Lightly stroke the face without pulling skin downward. After your bath, do a dry massage and remember to rub the ears. Do this regularly.

  • Drink apple cider vinegar to prevent arthritis- Mix 8 ounces of water or juice with 1 to 3 tablespoons of this vinegar. Use cherry juice for best results. Drink the remedy 3 times a day, before every meal.

  • Applying It Topically- Along with taking apple cider vinegar internally, you may opt for topical application to get better and faster relief from joint pain and arthritis.

  • Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey for Arthritis- Apple cider vinegar and honey are great sources of potassium. They become alkaline when consumed and aid in the safe excretion of excess acids. Mix 2 teaspoon each of apple cider vinegar and honey into a glass of water. Drink 3 times daily. It will also dissolve the uric acid deposits that crystallize between joints and muscles. This method is great for rheumatoid arthritis.

A muscle cramp is a strong, painful contraction or tightening of a muscle that comes on suddenly and lasts from a few seconds to several minutes. It often occurs in the legs. A muscle cramp is also called a charley horse.

If you get nocturnal leg cramps, we don’t need to tell you how uncomfortable these leg pains can be. One minute you’re sleeping soundly and the next you’re jerked awake with aching pain in one or both of your legs. These cramps can keep you up for hours, completely disrupting your sleep and preparing you for a less-than-pleasant day ahead. Almost everyone experiences a muscle cramp at some time in their life. It is especially common among people who participate in sports. In fact, muscle cramps afflict 39 percent of marathon runners, 79 percent of athletes and 60 percent of cyclists at one time or another.

There are a couple of reasons leg cramps occur:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time

  • Over-exertion of the muscles in the leg

  • Standing or working on concrete floors

  • Sitting improperly

  • Pregnancy

  • Alcoholism

  • Dehydration

  • Parkinson’s disease

  • Neuromuscular disorders

Home Remedies for Leg Cramps

  1. Organic Honey- Take 2 tablespoons of ACV (apple cider vinegar) and mix it with 1 tablespoon of organic honey. Consume this concoction every day to prevent occurring of cramps.

  2.  Banana– Cramping may be due to deficient potassium in your body, grabbing a banana and eating it will increase your potassium level.

  3. Pinch Your Upper Lip– The quickest relief may be a pinch to your upper lip directly under your nostrils. Press firmly (not to hard) for 30 seconds to one minute until your leg muscle relaxes. Alternatively, pinch your lip by placing your thumb on the inside of your mouth under the lip and your index finger on the outer lip.

  4. Epsom Salt– Epsom salt can also be used to treat muscle cramps. The magnesium in Epsom salt promotes muscle relaxation and healing. Fill your bathtub with warm water. Add two cups of Epsom salt and stir it thoroughly. Soak in this bath for 20 minutes. Usually, taking this bath once will take care of the problem. However, if required you can repeat this remedy the next day.

  5. Castor Oil- Take some castor oil in a bowl and warm it. Now, take a clean cotton cloth and immerse it in the oil. Afterwards, wrap this cloth around the painful area and cover it with a piece of plastic to avoid oil stains. Do it before you go to bed. The healing properties of castor oil relax the swollen joints and treat painful cramps.

  6. Cayenne Pepper– A chemical compound called capsaicin present in cayenne pepper widens the blood vessels and regulates proper blood flow. Simply spread cayenne ointment on the affected area to relax your muscles.

  7. Stretching & Massage– Regular stretching and massage can help you get rid of the leg cramps.

Head lice are small, wingless insects that live, breed and feed on the human scalp. They do not generally carry or transmit disease. Head lice have existed for millions of years and, in fact, predate human evolution.

Direct contact is required for transmission from person to person. Lice will crawl from head to head without discrimination. Head lice are most common among children and their families.

While head lice aren’t exactly dangerous, they can cause plenty of irritation and can even lead to minor infections in children with depressed immune systems if they scratch their heads long enough. If you suspect someone might have been exposed to head lice you will need to closely inspect that person’s hair and scalp.

So what are you looking for? Head lice eggs are oval, and the size of a pinhead. They are firmly attached to the hair shaft and cannot be brushed off.

Most conventional over-the-counter and prescription treatments for head lice are very often made with toxic insecticides, and in many cases, aren’t effective. These treatments are actually neurotoxins that work by poisoning the central nervous system of the insects.

The active compounds in head lice products are:

  • pyrethrins

  • synthetic pyrethroids (permethrin, bioallethrin)

  • organophosphates (maldison or malathion)

  • herbal, with or without natural (non-chemical) pyrethrins.

Humans can have some pretty serious side effects from these treatments, including difficulty breathing and skin rashes.

So here is a simple at home remedy to get rid of head lice:

Vinegar and Listerine treatment for head lice

You need:

  • Listerine mouthwash

  • White vinegar (find heremore surprising household uses for white vinegar)

  • Shower cap or plastic bags

  • Lice comb

  • Shampoo

How to use it:

  • Apply Listerine into the scalp and along the hair. Make sure the scalp and hair are completely wet with Listerine.
  • Cover with shower cap and leave it on for an hour.
  • Remove the shower cap and rinse off your water.
  • Apply enough amounts of apple cider vinegar and massage it very gently.
  • Leave the application for another hour.
  • Wash your hair normally with regular shampoo.
  • Repeat the process regularly.

This acid has antiseptic or germ killing properties. Vinegar usually has an acetic acid concentration of around 5% and is safe to use for head lice.

The acetic acid contained in vinegar will not dissolve the exoskeleton (the protective shell of nits) of lice eggs and therefore will not kill them.

However, it will help loosen the glue that holds the nits to the hair shaft so that the nits will no longer stick to the hair and will be easy to remove with a good nit comb.

Other great remedies are:

Salt– Salt can also be used to eradicate head lice through desiccation. Mix one-quarter cup of salt and one-quarter cup of vinegar thoroughly. Gently spray the solution onto your hair so that it becomes slightly wet. Put on a shower cap and leave it for about two hours. Then wash and condition your hair. Repeat this every three days to get positive results.

Petroleum Jelly- Before going to bed, apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly on your scalp. Wrap your head firmly with a towel or shower cap. Leave it on all through the night. Next morning, remove the petroleum jelly using baby oil. Thoroughly comb your hair, and repeat this remedy daily until the problem is solved.

One of the most cultivated tropical fruits, bananas are a close relative to the plantain, which is larger and darker. Over centuries, bananas have been used to settle upset stomachs (including morning sickness), reduce stress, ease heartburn pain, relieve constipation, soothe PMS symptoms, cure warts, and stimulate brain power. Aside from being a delicious fruit, bananas have a number of often-overlooked health benefits. Archaeologists consider the Kuk Valley of New Guinea at around 8,000 BC to be the period where humans first considered the banana as an edible option. It didn’t take long for bananas to reach Southeastern Asia and countries across the Southern Pacific Ocean.

Bananas are one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world for good reason. Eating them could help lower blood pressure and reduce the risks of cancer and asthma.

Today, bananas are grown in at least 107 countries and are ranked fourth among the world’s food crops in monetary value. Americans consume more bananas than apples and oranges combined.

Bananas provide a variety of vitamins and minerals:
Vitamin B6 – .5 mg
Manganese – .3 mg
Vitamin C – 9 mg
Potassium – 450 mg
Dietary Fiber – 3g
Protein – 1 g
Magnesium – 34 mg
Folate – 25.0 mcg
Riboflavin – .1 mg
Niacin – .8 mg
Vitamin A – 81 IU
Iron – .3 mg

Here are the top 5 benefits of bananas:

Bananas Help Lower Blood Pressure

Bananas are extremely high in potassium content, containing 806 grams to be exact. Bananas are also very low in sodium, containing only 1 milligram. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 56% of American adults and 10% of American children have either hypertension or prehypertension. According to a discovery made by doctors in India, consuming 2 bananas per day can reduce blood pressure by 10% within 1 week. Consuming 5 bananas per day was 50% as effective as taking prescription medication. A diet that is high in potassium would reduce the risk of one suffering from high blood pressure.

Instant Energy

Because bananas are overloaded with minerals and vitamins, they are a great source of natural energy that can last for several hours. Eat 1 or 2 bananas when your afternoon energy dip kicks in or just before doing a work-out and you will feel so much more productive.

Improve Bowel Health

The high fiber in bananas has positive effects on digestion and helps stop constipation. Bananas also help recover from diarrhea by restoring electrolyte levels which is necessary to rehydrate the body.

Much Better Nights

Bananas contain high amounts of tryptophan. That simply means that they’re more than capable of raising serotonin levels and could thus help people who find it very difficult to go to sleep.

Treating Ulcers

Bananas are excellent in the case of stomach ulcers, as they will cause no pain, and their soft texture will coat the stomach’s lining. In this way, bananas will help you prevent corrosive acids and irritations.
